The Professional Development Series provides the Wayne State community with learning opportunities ideal for graduate students and postdocs. Every event covers one or more of the following areas of development: 

  • Research (e.g. statistical analysis, grant writing)
  • Instructional Development (e.g. Graduate Teaching Assistants orientation)
  • Career Readiness (e.g. building your brand)

  • April 7: Using the PIVOT Platform to Search for External Funding

    The funding search platform PIVOT is an intuitive tool that searches globally for external funding sources for sciences, humanities, arts, other disciplines and helps identify potential collaborators with the same research interests. Attendees will learn how to

    • Receive regular alerts whenever new funding opportunities are posted
    • Specify search terms so that you only receive funding opportunities in your area of expertise or subject matter you choose
    • Identify researcher expertise from within or outside Wayne State
