Open postdoctoral position, faculty mentor Anjan Kowluru

Summary

To understand G protein-mediated signaling mechanisms underlying islet beta-cell function in health and diabetes. Specifically, we are interested in assessing roles of Rho G proteins (Rac1 and Cdc42) and their regulatory factors in physiological insulin secretion, and potential abnormalities in these signaling modules in beta-cell models of impaired insulin secretion and diabetes.

Required qualifications

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Cell Biology or Molecular Biology.
  • Experience in biochemical, cell biological, molecular biological techniques and small animal handling/surgery is preferred.
