Kelli Anne Van Buren is a native Detroiter who grew up familiar with the Wayne State University campus, so when it came time to start her own higher ed journey, WSU was the obvious choice. She chose to be a SURGE mentor because she wants to provide students with what she wishes she knew when starting out. You can find her visiting new eateries that pop up around Detroit or shopping for vintage clothing. Her ultimate career goal post-graduation is to become a college president.
