The 2023 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools list once again includes multiple programs and departments from Wayne State, with 25 listed among the top 100 in their disciplines, and 40 ranking in total.

"The excellent rankings in the U.S. News & World Report list reflect our continuous hard work as a university in offering access to programs that emphasize academic excellence and professional and personal development. Our graduate programs uniquely prepare students for a diverse workforce and provide access to a wider variety of career prospects," said Wayne State University Graduate School Dean Amanda Bryant-Friedrich.

Designed for students looking to further their education beyond college, the rankings evaluate programs across a variety of disciplines. Methodologies and rankings are updated each year. In 2022, Wayne State had 21 programs and departments listed in the top 100, with many fluctuating year-over-year. Some programs have steadily climbed over the years, such as Wayne Law, which has climbed 42 spots in the last five years.

Located in the heart of Midtown Detroit, Wayne State is a premier urban research institution, with more than 250 graduate programs in 13 schools and colleges at the master's and doctoral levels. Wayne State enjoys a global presence, as evidenced by its 2022 Graduate Research Symposium, which featured 1,300 attendees from 156 universities in 30 countries across five continents.

"Wayne State offers much more than a typical graduate education, said Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Mark Kornbluh. "Our graduate programs are immersive and enriching experiences that enable students to make a significant difference, whether that be in the workplace, lab, or community."

Prospective students are encouraged to register for Wayne State's upcoming virtual Graduate School Information Session, happening on April 6 at 4:30 p.m. EDT. Sessions will feature information on the admissions process, funding opportunities, and a student panel that will share insights into campus life. Attendees will also be able to waive their application fee if they submit their application within 72 hours of the event.

The list below reflects some of Wayne State's 2023 ranked graduate programs. Many programs were tied with other institutions.

Note: These rankings are effective as of March 23, 2022, and are subject to change, per U.S. News & World Report.
