Open postdoctoral position, faculty mentor Steve Patrick

The laboratory of Steve Patrick at Wayne State University/Karmanos Cancer Institute has a position available for a postdoctoral fellow in the area of cancer research. Oncology research will be focused on understanding pathways that chemosensitize lung, breast and ovarian cancer cells to cisplatin treatment and elucidating the mechanism of APOBEC3 induced activation of base excision repair and mismatch repair in mediating cisplatin sensitivity. The qualified individual will help oversee all lab functions, help oversee graduate students working in the lab and assist with manuscript writing.

Required qualifications 

  • PhD required
  • Four or more years hands-on experience in a research lab
  • Cell Biology techniques including tissue culture, and transfection, apoptosis, RNA/DNA extraction, Electrophoresis Assay, Plaque Assay, Western Blot, Microarray Analysis, DNA repair assays and ability to perform all functions and duties listed above
