The Graduate School holds an annual competition for the Munich Exchange Fellowship for graduate students. The fellowship supports the awardee to study one year in Munich. WSU graduate students who are awarded a fellowship by the Graduate School to study at Ludwig-Maximilians Universitat Munich will be provided a tuition waiver from LMU. The WSU Graduate School will provide the WSU student(s) with a cost-of-living allowance to assist them with day-to-day expenses during their studies in Munich. Expenses not covered by the tuition waiver and cost-of-living allowance will be the responsibility of the fellow. Independent travel arrangements should be made. Travel expenses are not included in the fellowship.
Applicants must meet be:
- Admitted to a program of graduate study at Wayne State University
- Proficient in the German language unless enrolled in courses taught in English
- In good academic standing with demonstrated capacity for independent study
- Involved in study or research that is relevant to their program at Wayne State University
Note that as stated by university policy, Wayne State employees, i.e. persons providing a service to the university, are not eligible to receive fellowships.
