Application fee waiver eligibility
- Alumni or current undergraduate student. WSU alumni and current WSU undergraduate students in a degree-seeking program who have applied for graduation. Must provide Access ID, program, and year of graduation.
- WSU active employee. Must provide WSU department, title and Access ID.
- Attending (or graduated from) an approved pipeline program. Must upload a letter (on the organization's stationery) or form from your organization verifying your participation in the program, along with your dates of participation. See the list of approved pipeline programs:
- Building Infrastructure Leading to Diversity (BUILD)
- Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS)
- Initiative for Maximizing Student Development (IMSD)
- Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP)

- TeachDETROIT (WSU College of Education)

- Detroit Police Department (DPD) Leadership Academy (WSU Mike Ilitch School of Business)
- Active or retired U.S. military service member
- Service volunteer (i.e., Peace Corps, Teach for America, AmeriCorps, CityYear, and Summer in the City). Must upload a letter (on the organization's stationery) or form from your organization verifying your participation in the program, along with your dates of participation.
- Financial hardship (U.S. citizen or permanent resident), Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) on Student Aid Report (SAR) cannot exceed $5,000. Must upload a copy of your current SAR. DACA and undocumented applicants, contact gradadmissions@wayne.edu for supporting materials. International applicants must complete the Statement of Need form found in the online application.
