King-Chavez-Parks Future Faculty Fellowship Program (KCP)
The primary purpose of this fellowship program is to assist students who intend to pursue a full-time teaching position in a post secondary institution in the State of Michigan within one year of receiving their doctoral degree at Wayne State University. The KCP Fellowship provides an annual stipend from one to three years, up to a maximum of $35,000 over a three year period. The Graduate School sponsors an annual competition for these Fellowships.

Dean’s Diversity Fellowship
Requires departmental nomination of candidate. The Dean’s Diversity Fellowship is designed to attract new doctoral students to Wayne State University; it cannot be awarded to continuing students. The fellowship covers one academic year during which Fellows have no service requirements. The Fellowship includes a living allowance of $20,000, tuition up to ten graduate credits per term, as well as subsidized medical, dental insurance and vision care insurance for twelve months. In addition, the Fellow will receive a $5,000 summer scholarship following successful completion of the award year. Graduate programs must accept responsibility for supporting the student at the Graduate Assistant minimum compensation rate in year two of study. The Graduate School will pay the difference between the minimum assistantship rate and the fellowship rate of $20,000.
